Habitat for Humanity Collegiate Challenge 2009

2009 Habitat for Humanity Collegiate Challenge

Habitat for Humanity of Fannin and Gilmer Counties would like to thank the students who took time out of their Spring Break to come to Morganton, Georgia to help build a Habitat home for The Galloway family which consists of 2 adults and 5 children. Each child will have their own room in this tri-level home.

Here is a picture of the dried-in home.

Please see below the Collegiate Challenge 2009. The first group is from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. These students drove 18 hours to arrive in Blue Ridge, Georgia on March 15th. A reception and introduction of Habitat volunteers, the Galloway Family, and students from Hamilton College took place at Habitat's ReStore. The group from Hamilton College has taken one week out of their Spring Break, March 16 - March 20, 2009 to get as much work on the Galloway home before the next group arrive.

The next group is a group of Seniors from Davidson Day School in Davidson, North Carolina. They are scheduled to begin work where the Hamilton College students left off on March 23.

Habitat for Humanity of Fannin and Gilmer Counties would like to thank these groups of students for taking the time to help build our newest Habitat home!
